I'm working on Barbara Sher's books this month. In Refuse to Choose, a book about Renaissance people and career coaching, she talks about keeping a big fat book for your multitude of interests and research. I started one today and I decided to silver foil this MON (Japanese heraldic crest) upon it. It's the mon I like to use with my family and my Japanese interests. I thought it came out pretty. I used transfer paper to record the traditional mon from a heraldry of Japan book, then I used a silver-foil calligraphic pen (Sakura) for the inking.
